POURQUOI JOUER AU BRIDGE ? Le Bridge est un Sport de l'Esprit et un loisir. Il aide à développer l'attention, la mémorisation, la concentration et à enseigner l'art du raisonnement. Le Bridge est enseigné dans les Ecoles d'Etat car sa Valeur Educative a été reconnue par les Ministères de l'Education et l'Unesco. Le Bridge est un jeu Economique : Contrairement a de nombreux sports ou loisirs, le Bridge ne coute rien : Un jeu de 52 cartes suffit . Le Bridge est pratiqué par 60 Millions d'adeptes répartis dans 120 Nations. On peut jouer au Bridge dès l'âge de 10 ans et il n' y a pas de limite d'âge supérieure. Leon Tintner a gagné un championnat du Monde à l'âge de 92 ans. Une Etude très sérieuse des Universités de Californie ont prouvé que les Bridgeurs ont beaucoup moins de chance de développer la maladie d'Alzheimer ou Parkinson que les autres personnes. Le Bridge est convivial et son développement présente un véritable atout pour le Tourisme =non seulement par les Championnats du Monde mais par la multitude de Festivals, de Stages et de Croisières organisés par tous les pays. Aujourd'hui Internet permet de jouer à distance à n'importe quelle heure du jour ou de la nuit avec des Bridgeurs de Hong Kong, de Nairobi ou de San Francisco. LE BRIDGE AU NIVEAU INTERNATIONAL Les Bridgeurs du Monde entier sont répartis en 8 Zones. Le Maroc fait partie de la Zone Afrique ( Zone 8 ). Toutes les années paires il y a un Championnat du Monde : Une fois par Paires et la fois suivante par Equipes. Les années impaires a lieu la '' Bermuda Bowl '' qui réunit les pays vainqueurs de leur Zone. La Féderation Mondiale ( WBF) a accordé à l'Afrique un quota de deux équipes par catégorie : Open - Dames et Séniors . Des Championnats du Monde Juniors et Universitaires sont organisés depuis plusieurs années maintenant : malheureusement le continent Africain ne compte pas encore de jeunes dans ses équipes. La Fédération Mondiale de Bridge a été reconnue officiellement par le Comité Olympique International : ci- dessous la lettre du CIO reçue par M. JOSE DAMIANI - Président de la WBF.

Re: New IOC Recognition Procedure Dear President, In the framework of the new recognition procedure initiated in July 2003 by the IOC, you will recall that your Federation was approached between September and November 2003. Through a process comprising several stages ( questionnaire, additional information, etcthe .), we were able to gather data, enabling the IOC to update the most important information concerning each federation to serve as the basis for analysis. Moreover, objective evaluation criteria allowed the IOC Sports department to examine the individual situation of each federation. Following this phase - which took place at the end of 2003 - a report was produced and recommendations submitted to, and studied by, the Executive Board at its meeting of 18 May 2004. An analysis of the data and criteria adopted enabled the Executive Board to take several types of decision, taking into account the specific circumstances of each federation. * Therefore, sone federation will retain ( subject to validation by the Session in August 2004) their status as an IOC - Recognised Federation, given that they are in full compliance with all requirements. * For two federations, it will be proposed that the Session should grant full recognition, given that they currently have provisional recognition status and that they are in full compliance with all the requirements. * In four cases, the Executive Board has decided to grant recognition on certain conditions. * In two cases, the federation wil receive two-year provisional recognition, in conformity wit the Olympic Charter.
* In seven cases ( five summer sports and two winter sports), the federation will not obtain recognition at the present time. In view of the above, it is our pleaure to inform you today that your Federation complies with all the current criteria, enabling the Executive Board to propose to the Session ( which will convene in August 2004) to confirm your status as a Recognised Federation. It is also important to specify that, henceforward, every four years - but alternating between summer and winter every two years - a review wil be conducted, which will allow for a periodic evaluation of the status of every federation, including those governing sports on the Olympic programme. As was the case at the end of 2003, the task will then be to re-analyse whether the updated informaion concerning your federation is in line with the criteria redefined in each review.
